Protecting children’s ambition to improve their academic performance

In order to assist their children’s studies, most parents are willing to invest time, energy, and money. How to make one’s investment generate corresponding returns, at least not to have a counterproductive effect, testing the knowledge and wisdom of parents.

The vast majority of children are ambitious, eager to have smart minds, outstanding grades, and hope to be envied and recognized by others. This is a sign of ambition and a prerequisite for proactive learning and academic success.

Protecting children’s ambition is an important aspect for parents to play their role. In this regard, some negative examples can serve as a warning to us:

Some parents tie their children’s learning to their own values and reputation as parents, allowing their children to work hard to bring honor to their parents;

Some parents have regrets in their own lives and hope that their children can fulfill their unfinished ideals, interfering or even taking care of their children’s choices;

Some parents have strict requirements for their children, but they themselves do not study or strive for progress, play with things without ambition, and live a mediocre life, implementing double standards;

Some parents lack effective means when encountering problems, or their emotional management abilities are insufficient, resulting in a loss of image in their children’s minds and a lack of positive and exemplary role;

Some parents have poor marital relationships, with indifferent feelings between spouses, or attacking and undermining each other. The lack of a warm and harmonious atmosphere in the family makes children worry and restless;

Some parents prioritize sons over daughters or favor different children over others, failing to achieve fairness and justice and hurting their children’s emotions;

Some parents lack discernment in the face of various educational institutions’ propaganda, seek medical treatment in a panic, or have a one-sided understanding of certain theoretical methods, resulting in drawing a tiger instead of a dog, making their children become trial and error guinea pigs……

The solutions to these examples are included in the problem. As long as parents are brave enough to face problems and take responsibility, and make timely adjustments, there is hope for improvement in their children’s condition.
