Travel Fairy Tale Kingdom

Denmark is the world-renowned “Kingdom of Fairy Tales”. It is not only the birthplace of famous fairy tale works, but also home to dreamy and interesting legends, colorful cities, houses like building blocks, and a vibrant life. The fairy tale world that once only existed in books has become a reality in Denmark.

Copenhagen, the capital and largest city of Denmark, is the political, economic and cultural center of the country, and also the largest city and port in the entire Northern Europe. For many years, it has consistently ranked among the top in various lists such as “The World’s Happiest City” and “The World’s Most Livable City”.

Copenhagen is a modern metropolis that reveres nature and a medieval historical and cultural city with a strong ancient charm. The city is home to many castles and palaces, exuding a strong fairy-tale atmosphere. It combines the ancient and the magical, and art and modernity complement each other, brimming with fantasy and romance everywhere.

This city can be described as “a riot of colors”. When people come here, it’s as if they have entered a fairy tale world. There are royal castle gardens, Nordic-style restaurants and coffee shops, clean and peaceful coastlines, and exquisite and beautiful lifestyles. There are simply too many places to see, visit and play.

As the hometown of the fairy tale master Hans Christian Andersen, Copenhagen is renowned worldwide for the fairy tale character “The Little Mermaid” and has become a tourist destination that many visitors have longed to visit since childhood. In the Long Causeway Park beside the northern coast of the city, the well-known mermaid sculpture sits alone by the seaside, attracting many tourists to come and admire it.

The most fairy-tale-like district in the city is undoubtedly the New Harbour in the city center. Along both sides of the narrow canal, there are densely lined up colorful classic Nordic-style buildings with an extremely high appearance level, which are frequent guests on Copenhagen postcards. This place is also a well-known bar street in the local area, an ideal destination for both locals and tourists to have fun and relax.

One of the most famous landmark buildings in Copenhagen is the Round Tower, which has a history of nearly 400 years. Although its appearance seems plain and unremarkable, it is a great place to climb high and enjoy the distant view. Climbing to the top of the nearly 35-meter-high tower and standing on the observation deck at the top, you can enjoy a 360-degree unobstructed view of the old town of Copenhagen. The red rooftops all over the city at first glance give a sense of Prague.

Amalienborg Palace, the most luxurious and lofty palace in Copenhagen, is a huge Rococo-style building located on the eastern shore of the strait in the city. It remains the main palace of the Danish royal family to this day. The Palace Square is grand and noble, and one can feel the authentic and rich atmosphere of the Danish royal family.

Copenhagen’s urban life is also extremely rich. It boasts the world’s longest pedestrian street, located in the heart of the city’s commercial center. From the street to the end, there are countless shops, restaurants and small eateries. The shops are lined up closely and the squares are connected to each other, dazzling and overwhelming.

The locals are very particular about the quality of life and advocate a refined lifestyle. Even the vegetable market has been renovated to look like a beautiful shopping center. This comprehensive market located in the city center is listed as one of the world’s 35 top food markets and has a history of over a hundred years. It attracts 60,000 visitors every week and represents the highest level of civic life in Denmark. It is also a must-visit place for foreign tourists.
